BIO

Michelle Gold has always felt a calling to the world of songwriting. Growing up in a home where the record collections were mainly musicals, the likes of Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, and Cole Porter was king.  Chum AM was her record collection.   Michelle has always been training her ear to pick up on all the elements that make for a great song. And none of that has changed–today, you’ll find her flipping on the radio to check out the latest sound, genre, or beat, and scrambling to jot down a great line she’s just thought of.

As a managing partner with her husband  D. Jae  Gold, she’s had the opportunity to immerse herself in the world of the arts, meeting and working with some of the greatest in the industry. While this has been immensely humbling for her, it’s also set a high bar for what Michelle counts as great songwriting. Now that she is no longer involved in the entertainment accounting practice, she has turned her sights back to songwriting on a more full time basis.

It's not only Michelle’s lifelong love of music and her decades of professional experience in the entertainment world that elevate the depth of her song writing.   As the child of holocaust survivors, Michelle has a very broad perspective of the world. Moreover, she’s constantly seeking the opportunity to travel and explore cultures outside her own and reflect this deeper perspective in her songs. And she has been song writing from a young age.

Some of Michelle’s experience with songwriting include:

Numerous songwriting courses in Toronto, Vancouver, Nashville and Berklee College of Music
Membership in Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), and Songwriters Association of Canada (SAC)
Recording and co-writing songs in various genres including show tunes, country, rock, pop, hip hop and R & B
Recording and releasing The Michelle Gold Publishing Demo’s I & II & III
Top 10% placement in the Unisong International Song Contest
Co-writer of the musical Afternoon in the Park

Today, Michelle’s goal with her songwriting is simple: to have incredible artists cover her work and to continue to collaborate with co-writers. The year 2020 went from being paralyzed to energized, so watch out for more releases soon.

The joy is in the ride! Michelle wishes to thank all her family, friends and fans for their continued support and love.
